Embracing the "Dog Days of Summer" with a Heartwarming Mission
As the sun reaches its peak and temperatures soar, we find ourselves in the midst of what is commonly known as the "Dog Days of Summer." But contrary to what the name might suggest, it has nothing to do with our four-legged furry friends. Instead, this period, which typically falls between July and August, is related to the position of the star Sirius in the night sky.
At Bliss Marketplace, we believe in not only celebrating this astronomical phenomenon but also embracing the spirit of compassion and care for animals that goes hand-in-hand with the warmth of summer. That's why this month, we are dedicating our efforts to support rescue pets in our community.
Throughout August, we invite all of our cherished customers and fellow pet lovers to join us in celebrating and giving back to our furry companions. We have partnered with the Front Street Shelter, a local organization committed to rescuing and caring for animals in need.
How can you be a part of this heartwarming mission?
1. Pet Food and Monetary Donations: At both Midtown Bliss Home & Gifts and Bliss Marketplace Rancho Cordova, we are collecting pet food and monetary donations for the Front Street Shelter. Every contribution, big or small, helps provide nourishment and care to the shelter's precious residents. To further amplify the impact, Bliss will generously match all monetary donations made during this special month.
2. Guess the Treats: Participate in our fun-filled "Guess the Treats" game and stand a chance to win one of two adorable gift baskets at each store. Simply estimate the number of dog treats in the jar, and not only will you have a chance to take home a delightful prize, but all the treats will be donated to the shelter pets, spreading joy and happiness to those in need.
