Vintage Mid-Century Cut Crystal Stemware Suite — Grape & Vine, 31 Pieces, Six Shapes
- Unit price
- /per
🍇 A complete suite of vintage cut crystal stemware in a single grape-and-vine pattern — 31 pieces across six shapes, enough to set a full table and stock a bar. Wheel-cut grape clusters, pointed leaves and curling tendrils ring each bowl above vertical optic panels; stems carry a faceted bulb knop above a slender hexagonal shaft, finished with a plain polished foot.
The cutting is done on a wheel and left unpolished — "gray cut" — which is what gives the grapes their soft frosted surface and a depth you can feel with a fingertip. The optic panels throw light the way pressed glass never does. 🥂
The shape list is what dates it: a service carrying a low seafood cocktail, a tall sherbet, a claret and a footed iced tea belongs to the formal American table of the 1950s, before the coupe gave way to the flute and the shape count shrank.
A note on the maker, because it matters: there is no mark on any of the 31 pieces — the feet are plain polished pontils with no acid stamp. That is completely normal for cut stemware of this period. The cutting was done to order on bought-in blanks, and the maker's name lived on a foil label that washed off in the first sink of dishwater. So this is offered as unmarked American cut crystal and nothing more.
