Description
This exquisite, heavy-weight tabletop frame is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship from the renowned maker Elias Artmetal (Model 2442). Handcrafted in the USA and copyrighted in 1999, the frame showcases a stunning, highly detailed Art Nouveau design. The molding features an intricate, fluid relief pattern of winding poppy pods, stems, and delicate leaves, transitioning into a classic laurel border along the outer edge.
Cast from solid, lead-free "Extra Fine Pewter" alloyed with pure silver, the frame boasts an impressive, substantial heft weighing a full 2 pounds. The unique addition of silver gives the metal a brilliant, soft luster and ensures it is "Good Forever"—designed to remain beautiful and highly detailed without standard tarnishing.
The back is finished with a premium, plush dark green velvet lining and includes a versatile two-way easel stand for either portrait or landscape tabletop display. It safely secures its contents with four decorative silver turn-clasps and is perfectly sized to fit a standard 8" x 10" photograph or art print (currently housing a print of John Singer Sargent’s The Sitwell Family).
